A little after my birthday, I brought some friends to my favorite Malaysian restaurant here (the only one in town), Island Malaysian Cuisine, to perform the annual Chinese New Year ritual of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yusheng with me.
The idea behind this is to mix and toss up the ingredients as much and as high as you can. The higher and more you toss, the more luck will come your way for the new year. Each time you toss, you say out loud all the wonderful things you want for everyone to get.
New car, New job, More money, More everything!
Bill, Paul, Rich.... I hope yours will come true for this year. This is the first time in 20 years I've performed this ritual... mine certainly did.
The week after this event, RSA announced we made 161% above Sales target for 2020.... my bonus got a whole lot 161% fatter :)
To all my friends out there reading this: Mark your calendar for Chinese New Year in 2022. We're doing this again. Just spreading some love with you all.
On a side note: Job @ Google was never meant to be. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.
